Cancellations & Refunds
At Frelo, we strive to ensure smooth collaboration between Clients and Freelancers. However, we understand that cancellations and refunds may be necessary in certain situations. This Cancellation and Refund Policy explains how these processes work.
Cancellation by Clients
Before Work Starts
- Clients can cancel a project before any work or milestone has started.
- In this case, no payment will be required, and no refund will be necessary since no funds would have been released to the Freelancer.
After Milestone Work Has Started
- Once work on a milestone has started, the Client is required to pay for the completed tasks of that milestone.
- If a Client wishes to cancel the project mid-milestone, payment for the work already done on that milestone will be released to the Freelancer based on a mutual agreement or dispute resolution.
Project Completion and Refunds
After a project or milestone is marked as completed and approved, refunds are typically not available unless both parties agree that the work was unsatisfactory and a refund is appropriate.
Cancellation by Freelancers
Before Work Starts
Freelancers may withdraw from a project before work begins without penalty, provided they notify the Client promptly.
During an Ongoing Project
If a Freelancer cancels during a project, they must notify the Client immediately. In such cases:
- Any completed milestones will be paid for.
- Any future milestones will be canceled, and the Client will not be charged for those tasks.
- In the case of unjustified cancellation, Freelancers may face penalties or suspension of their account on Frelo.
Mutual Cancellation
Both Clients and Freelancers can mutually agree to cancel a project at any stage. In such cases:
- Any payments for completed milestones will be made.
- The remaining milestones will be canceled, and no additional payments will be processed.
Refund Policy
Refunds for Clients
- Clients may request a refund if they are unsatisfied with the Freelancer's work before approving the milestone.
- Refunds will only be processed for the unapproved milestone if both parties agree or if Frelo's dispute resolution process rules in favor of the Client.
- Once a milestone is approved and payment is released, refunds will generally not be available.
Refunds for Freelancers
- If a Client cancels a project before the work begins, Freelancers are not entitled to any payments.
- If work has started and the Client cancels without valid reason, Freelancers may still receive payment for the work completed up to that point.
Dispute Resolution
If a Client or Freelancer disputes the cancellation or refund process, Frelo provides mediation to help resolve the issue. Frelo will review the case and may help decide on the appropriate refund or payment, but both parties are encouraged to resolve matters through direct communication first.
No Refunds on Platform Fees
Freelancer Commissions and Client Retainer Fees are non-refundable once a transaction is processed. Frelo's service fees are part of the cost of using the platform and are not subject to refunds.
